The Danish War Veteran National Team consists of veterans from three groups: injured veterans, civilian veterans, and active service veterans. Through football as a sport, they use community to rehabilitate, help, and prevent mental and physical injuries – while once again representing Denmark and Dannebrog.

Experience one of the biggest football events in Silkeborg in 2026, when the War Veteran National Team for the first time in history meets the DBU Old Boys National Team in an official exhibition match.

The match marks a unique collaboration between Silkeborg KFUM, Veteran Network Silkeborg, Silkeborg Municipality, and the War Veteran National Team. It will be an evening filled with community, pride, and top-class football. Here, the audience will have the opportunity to experience former national team profiles on the field – and at the same time support a strong veteran community that works for cohesion, identity, and positive communities through sport.
