BARSK has a long shared history with the Danish special forces, rooted in close cooperation on the development of special editions of our training gear. For the few who have passed the tough selection process for the special forces, BARSK has become part of the culture and a symbol of strength, will, and a brotherhood forged in sweat, discipline, and sometimes blood.

This unique relationship means that BARSK can contribute to strengthening cohesion within and across the Danish special operations forces. Likewise, members of the special forces can continue to contribute to the further development of their own training gear. This ensures that functionality, fit, durability, and specific details meet the particular demands and challenges faced by the members.

The name BARSK originates from the Old Norse use of the word, which particularly in the Viking Age meant tough, hardy, and raw. It is also a reflection of what characterizes members of the special forces – and everyone else who possesses the ability to challenge their own limits, dig deep, and never give up in their efforts to do or achieve something extraordinary.

Our DNA and roots are forever anchored in and shaped by the special forces. BARSK's values and the guidelines we work by are intended as a motivation for those who lead the way; those who are dedicated to never giving up, and all those who contribute to strengthening cooperation, solidarity, and cohesion in the communities they are a part of.
