Medusa de Cristal XO is an uncompromising rum, produced in the heart of Panama, where sugarcane fields stretch towards the horizon and the climate pushes raw materials to their limits. Medusa de Cristal XO is an uncompromising rum, produced in the heart of Panama – where sugarcane fields stretch to the horizon, and the climate pushes raw materials to their limits. Between the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea, a rum with depth, strength, and character is created.
The rum is made from molasses and fermented with a specially developed yeast strain to achieve precisely the profile we demand. Distillation takes place in traditional column stills, and maturation occurs in Panama's tropical climate, where heat and humidity enhance intensity and complexity.
Every two years, the barrels are refilled with rum of at least the same age to maintain control and consistency in expression. Medusa de Cristal XO is aged for a minimum of 10 years and finished in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, which impart fruity notes, deep sweetness, and a firm, structured finish.
The result is a robust, well-balanced rum with distinct edge. No superfluous details. Only what works.
The name Medusa de Cristal is inspired by the luminous crystal jellyfish – a symbol of strength, control, and beauty in the darkest depths. A rum created for those who stand firm. Even when under the greatest pressure.
